Alma Specto Starter Menu Roles

Starting with the May 2026 release, Alma customers can enable the new Specto menu through an opt-in setting. In the August 2026 release, the menu transitions to opt-out, with general availability planned for all Alma customers in the November 2026 release.

The Specto menu provides a dedicated location for digital cataloging and digital content management actions. It does not introduce new functionality; instead, it consolidates existing digital asset management actions into a single menu.

Actions used exclusively for digital workflows have been moved to the Specto menu, while actions shared across multiple workflows remain in their original locations and are also available from the Specto menu. This reorganization simplifies navigation, helps users focus on digital content management tasks, and reduces clutter in areas where digital-specific actions are not relevant.
