Realign SCATs
Depending on the size of your system, the SCAT realignment process can take several hours to a few days to complete. Decision Center processes no updates until the SCAT realignment finishes. If this process is already scheduled or running and you click on Realign SCATs again, the process will be scheduled to run again at a new time in the future.
When you make changes to the statistical category (SCAT) tables on your Sierra or Millennium system, Decision Center must realign its database to match those changes. SCAT realignment is a resource-intensive process that requires analysis of every item and bibliographic record in your database. Therefore, Innovative recommends you do the following:
- Complete all planned SCAT table changes before scheduling the realignment process in Decision Center.
- Run SCAT realignment only when you know system resource demands are at a minimum.
To schedule this update, select Realign SCATs. The update begins as part of Decision Center's nightly data communication with Sierra or Millennium.
Decision Center tools and reports cannot provide up-to-date results until the SCAT realignment is complete. If you need to confirm that the Realign SCATs process has completed, run an evaluation report using Yesterday as the date range. If the SCAT changes are not yet appearing in the report, then the Realign SCATs process has not completed.
