Documentation Conventions

The Encore Staff Guide uses the following conventions:

Text that depends on the set up at your library appears enclosed in angle brackets and displayed in red font. For example:

http://<your Encore server>/iii/admin/

Information notes appear in colored boxes and provide background information about the current discussion. For example:

Unattended backups require an initialized tape. You can initialize a tape on the Backup Now tab.

Helpful hints about how the system works appear as "tips" preceded by a lightbulb icon. For example:

You do not need to log in to search with Encore.

Notes cautioning that a user's action could cause damage to data or to the system. For example:

If you are initializing backup media for an unattended backup, do not continue with the following steps.
