Additional Installation Requirements and Notes

The following are additional SFX installation requirements:

To log on to the server, an initial exlibris user with permission to su or sudo is required. This user can be deleted after the installation is complete.
Ex Libris staff require a root password to install the SFX software and create the following UNIX users with the sfx group ID:
- sfxglb41
- sfxlcl41
- sfxtst41

These users will be created as part of the SFX installation process and should not be created in advance.

The cron service should be running and enabled for all users that are part of the sfx group.
The ability to send e-mail from the server via SMTP must be enabled. SFX supports Sendmail only.
The system administrator must be available throughout the installation process.

Home directories for users that are part of the sfx group are placed by default in /exlibris/sfx_ver/sfx_version_4//home. If this is not acceptable to you, inform your Ex Libris representative prior to the installation of SFX.
