Daily Record Link Maintenance from Sierra client

In Sierra 6.6 and newer, authorized library staff can use Daily Record Link Maintenance function directly in the Sierra client through the Admin menu. Daily Record Link Maintenance updates location relationships for bibliographic records that have been flagged for processing.

To use the Daily Record Link Maintenance function from Sierra client, you must be assinged permission 27 (Maintain Record Links).

To update location relationships for flagged bibliographic records:

  1. In your Sierra client, select Admin | Maintain Record Links.

    The Maintain Record Links window displays.

  2. Under Choose Record Link Maintenance Option, select Daily Record Link Maintenance.

  3. Under Action select the desired action for the maintenance function:

    • REARRANGE attached records alphabetically by location

    • UPDATE locations in bibliographic records

    • BOTH rearrange attached records and update locations

  4. Select a behavior If no attached records of the selected type(s):

    • Set Bib location to "none"

    • Only set Bib location to "none" if it is "multi"

    • Don't set Bib location to "none"

  5. Select Start Job.

    The records are being processed.

  6. (Optional) Select Stop Job to terminate the job.

    The processing job is terminated.
