Records In Use by the System
Records in use can be freed automatically at regular intervals (usually every 24 hours at midnight local time). Contact Innovative to enable this feature.
When an invoice or order record is retrieved for updating, in most cases that record is in use. A record that is in use cannot be retrieved for updating by another user until the first user closes it.
For example, you attempt to retrieve record o10243641 for updating. The record appears with the message on the status bar:
View-Only Mode (IN USE)
You can view but not update record o10243641 until the system frees it. When you view a record in use, you will not see any changes that another user is in the process of making.
Records are freed for the next user as soon as updates are made permanent. You must close and reopen the record or click Edit to update the status bar. Records in use are also automatically freed when the system is booted. See Freeing Records in Use for information on manually freeing records.
When Is a Record Not Busied?
If you have the Multiple Selector Access option enabled in Acquisitions, the order record is not busied when you enter the Selection List tab.
