View or edit your profile

You can view and, if permitted by your library, edit your profile information in the Account tab of the Account Portal. Some fields may be read-only.

If you owe fines or fees above the limit set by your library, you may not be able to edit some fields, but you can always change your nickname.

You can turn your reading history on or off, and, depending on your library, you can select your notification preference.

To view or edit your profile:

  1. In the Account Portal, select Account.
  2. Select Edit button Edit next to your name.
  3. Review or update the available fields.
    1. Set your Home Library to the library branch you usually use.
    2. Set your Preferred Pickup Location, which the system uses as the default for holds. You can change this when placing a hold.
    3. (Polaris only) Depending on your library, you can select a Default Pickup Area for your preferred pickup location. The pickup area will be automatically selected when you place a hold.
      Examples include the following:
      • Lobby

      • Smart Locker

      • Curbside

    4. Change your Passcode.
      If a field contains an information icon, select the icon to view additional details.
  4. Select Save.

Update linked accounts

If you are a patron who is managing linked accounts, you can update contact details and pickup preferences for those accounts while editing your own account. You don’t need to sign in to each account separately.

To update linked accounts:

  1. From the Account Portal, select Account.

    The page for managing patron account and preferences is displayed.

  2. Select Edit button Edit next to your account name.

  3. Add the changes to your account.

  4. Select Save and sync at the bottom of the window.

    You are prompted to choose which changes to apply to your linked accounts.

  5. Select the fields you want to sync, and apply them to the linked accounts you manage.

Select preferred contact method

Depending on your library’s notification options you may be able to choose to receive notifications of hold pickups, reminders to return items, overdues and other notices via: mail, email, phone, or text.

To select the preferred contact method:

  1. From the Account Portal, select Account.

    The page for managing patron account and preferences is displayed.

  2. Select Edit button Edit next to your account name.

    Scroll down to the Preferred Contact Method drop-down list, and make a selection.
