Apple App Store Age Rating Changes for Vega Mobile

Apple has introduced a new, more detailed age rating system for apps and games in the App Store. This change affects all iOS apps and will be visible on devices running beta versions of iOS 26 and later. You can learn more about this update on Apple’s Updated age ratings in App Store Connect page.

What Do You Need to Do?

Nothing at this time. We'll answer the new age rating questions for your app when we next submit an update on your behalf. You don’t need to take any action.

What's New?

Apple has added new age rating categories, 13+, 16+, and 18+, to supplement the existing 4+ and 9+ ratings. They’ve also updated the content rating questionnaire to include more granular

  • questions about app features, including:

  • In-app controls (eg, parental settings, age gating)

  • Unrestricted web access

  • Health and wellness topics

  • Profanity, violence, or other mature themes

These updates help Apple assign age ratings that more accurately reflect app capabilities and meet regional legal standards like COPPA and GDPR.

What Does This Mean for Your App?

Because the Vega Mobile App includes an in-app browser, our responses to Apple’s updated age rating questionnaire now results in the app receiving a 16+ age rating under the new

system (previously 17+). This is expected and consistent with Apple’s guidelines.

You may start seeing this new rating in the App Store Connect on Apple devices running iOS 26 (beta or later). Patrons may also see the 16+ rating when viewing the app in the App Store.

Will This Affect Patrons?

No. This updated age rating is a label used on Apple’s new system; it does not restrict the availability or functionality of the app for your patrons. No features are being removed or changed.

When Does This Take Effect?

Apple’s new age rating system is already active in App Store Connect and on devices running iOS 26 beta. The new ratings will be enforced for all app submissions starting January 31st, 2026.
