Configure prerequisites for cloudLibrary integration

Before configuring the cloudLibrary integration, complete the following steps:

  1. Confirm that cloudLibrary records are available in your Polaris or Sierra instance.

If you want patrons to discover cloudLibrary titles through the app's search feature, cloudLibrary records must be present and loaded in your ILS/LMS or discovery service.

These records allow the app to identify cloudLibrary content and match it with information provided by the cloudLibrary APIs.

If cloudLibrary records are not present in your ILS/LMS or discovery service, patrons cannot discover cloudLibrary titles through the app's search. However, the integration can still provide access to cloudLibrary account information, such as current loans and holds.

  2. Request API credentials from cloudLibrary.

Request the required API credentials directly from cloudLibrary. cloudLibrary provides the following information:

    • Library ID

    • Client ID

    • Client Key

If you don't already have a cloudLibrary Service Desk account, email help@oclc.atlassian.net to request access.

  3. Provide the API information to Clarivate.

Provide the cloudLibrary API information to Clarivate Support through a support case for configuration.
