Searching for Items to Satisfy ILL Requests

You can search both local and remote databases for items to satisfy ILL requests.

Typically, library staff search their library's database to determine if a local copy of a requested item is available before they attempt to acquire the item via ILL. For more information, see Local Searching in ILL.

If a local item cannot be located to satisfy the request, library staff then use remote searching to determine whether other libraries own copies of a requested item and to verify the content of ILL requests. For more information, see Remote Searching in ILL.
