TRANSFER fines from patron to organization

If your library has acquired the Organization Records product (product code 307E), you can use the TRANSFER fines from patron to organization option to transfer fines from patron records to their linked organization records. Note that this menu option appears only if your library has acquired the Organization Records product.

When you choose the TRANSFER fines from patron to organization option, the system displays the following menu:

                 Fine Transfer from Patron to Organization

D > Transfer fines by DATE
Q > QUIT
Choose one (D,Q)

Press D to transfer the fines. The system prompts:

Transfer all fines created before: <date>

Specify a date, and then press Enter. The system attempts to transfer any fines assessed before the date you entered from patron records to the linked organization records. Note that the system does not alter patron records that are not linked to organization records. After the system attempts to transfer the fines, it displays the results of the transfer. For example:

Number of patron records updated: 12

Number of fines transferred: 12

Number of errors: 0

Press <SPACE> to continue

The system lists as errors any problems with transfers that it was unable to perform. Use the VIEW error log from fines transfer option to view a log of these errors. Typically, errors occur when a patron record's ORG ID field contains an invalid barcode. Press Space to return to the FINANCIAL FUNCTIONS menu.
