FTS Transfer of B321 or PC-CIRC transactions from PC

In Sierra 5.5 and later, you can upload inventory files using Data Exchange.

The FTS Transfer of B321 or PC-CIRC transactions from PC option in Admin Corner allows you to transfer B321 or PC-Circ transactions to Sierra. This option is only available at sites that have purchased Innovative File Transfer Software (FTS).

FTS uses the FTP protocol to transfer files between the system and the PC. In order to perform this transfer, you must have FTP software on the PC, and the PC must be connected via ethernet to the same network to which the Innovative system is connected (for example, a local network, or the Internet). You must supply the following information:

  • The machine name or network ID (address) of the PC
  • A login name and password for the PC
  • The name and full path for the file to get from the PC (for example, c:\pccirc\circ.dat).

Have this information available before beginning a file transfer using FTS.

After the file has been transferred to the system, it must be processed into the database before the transactions will update the appropriate records.
