Checking In an Item that Satisfies an INN-Reach Hold

If you check in an item that satisfies an INN-Reach hold, the following message displays:

00-00-00 requested by .p0000000@site1 for pickup at location. Checkin item?

In response to this message, choose the Yes button. The system continues depending on the site to which the checkin location belongs:

Checkin Location Belongs to Owning Site

The checkin location can belong to the owning site under the following conditions:

  • The patron site has returned an item to your site. For more information, see Receiving an INN-Reach Item from the Patron Site.
  • A local patron has returned an item that satisfies an INN-Reach hold. The following options display:
    Fulfill hold
The system prompts you to print or queue a pickup notice:
    • To print a pickup notice to be sent with the item to the patron site, choose Print pickup slip now for remote site patron.
    • To queue a pickup notice for later printing at the patron site, choose Queue pickup slip for later printing.
The system prints or queues a pickup notice as desired and updates the item STATUS to '(' (PAGED). To complete the process of fulfilling the INN-Reach hold, print an INN-Reach paging slip and check out the item to the patron site.
    Do not fulfill; retain hold
The system checks in the item, updating the STATUS of the item to '-' (AVAILABLE) and retains the INN-Reach hold.

Checkin Location Belongs to Patron Site

The checkin location belongs to the patron site if you are checking in an INN-Reach item from the owning site. For more information, see Receiving an INN-Reach Item from the Patron Site.

Checkin Location, Patron Site, and Owning Site Belong to the Same Local Server

If the owning site performed the institutional checkout to the patron site, the system converted the INN-Reach hold to a local circulation request. However, if the item was sent to your location without this institutional checkout, the following message displays when you attempt to check it in:

INN-Site SAME SITE HOLD: Use "INN-Reach - Check-Out to Remote Site" to convert to local hold.

In response to this prompt:

  1. Choose the OK button to clear the message.
  2. Check out the item to the patron site to convert it to a local circulation hold.
  3. Check in the item as a local circulation hold.
