Placing a Volume-level Hold
There are three ways to place volume-level holds:
- Add a patron to a volume record's hold queue
- Place volume-level holds from the Summary tab
- Add holds to a patron record
Managing Volume-level Hold Options
To place multiple title-level holds on one bibliographic record and/or multiple volume-level holds on one volume record for one patron, set the Holds: Allow multiple title-level holds for one patron circulation option to "YES".
You can enable the following additional functionality for volume-level holds:
- To specify whether a volume-level hold can be placed on volumes with only one item and/or on volumes with no items, see Administering Holds Options.
- To specify a pickup location for volume-level holds, the Pickup at Item Location feature must be disabled. If the Pickup at Item Location feature is enabled at your library, the system does not enable you to specify a pickup location for volume-level holds.
