Routing Serials

To route serials, you must be assigned permission 083 (Routing list maintenance). See Permissions Used by Sierra for more information.

Sierra's routing functionality allows you to send a serial successively to individuals. Sierra provides two methods of routing a serial:

Add a serial to an individual's routing or patron record in the Routing function. If your library uses patron records for routing, you can retrieve the patron record to view routing details for an individual. Otherwise, you can retrieve the routing record to view routing details for an individual.
Add an individual to the routing list of a serial in the Routing tab of a checkin record.

The routee's short address can be displayed on the routing tab. Contact Innovative to enable this feature.

Removing Serials From Routing

Sierra provides two methods of removing serials from routing:

Delete a serial from an individual's routing or patron record in the Routing function.
Delete an individual from the routing list for a serial on the Routing tab of a checkin record.
