Mobile Release Notes June 2026

Release Date June 9, 2026

Features

  • PressReader Integration: The Solus Library App now integrates with PressReader, allowing patrons to access thousands of newspapers and magazines directly within the app. This provides a seamless way to explore news and magazine content alongside other library resources in one place.

Content is available in multiple languages and covers a wide range of topics, with access to both current and archived issues from leading publications. This makes it easier for patrons to stay informed wherever they are.

To enable this integration, please contact our support team at support@sol.us or submit a Zoho ticket.

  • Self-Check TechLogic ASCII RFID Support: Added support for ASCII RFID tag formats, improving compatibility with a wider range of library hardware for the self-check module.

Updates

  • Polaris | Patron Name Suffix Support: Updated patron account information that is shown in the My Details display to include name suffixes, such as Jr., Sr., or III, when available from Polaris. This helps ensure the patron's name is displayed more correctly within the app.

  • Sierra | Payments Updated to API-Based Processing: Updated the Sierra connector to use the Sierra API instead of SIP for retrieving and paying fines. This update adds support for invoice numbers on charges and improves consistency in payment processing by using Sierra’s fines API for all payment transactions made through the app.

  • Improved renewal cost handling: Updated how renewal costs are calculated and displayed across the app to improve accuracy and consistency. Renewal costs are now handled using a standardized currency format, ensuring more reliable and predictable values across all integrated library systems.

Fixes

Non-Roman Character Search Support

Fixed an issue where searches containing non-Roman characters (including Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Cyrillic text) could return no results in apps using Vega Discover as their search provider. Search requests were incorrectly being converted to ASCII before being sent to Vega Discover. This fix ensures searches using non-Roman character sets are processed correctly and return expected catalog results
