Importing MARC Records

Leap provides MARC and MARCXML record importing functionality.

When you import records using Leap, the system performs processing and validation. For more information, see Automatic Processes During Record Imports.

Note:
Importing a large number of records may cause slow performance for other processes. We recommend that you perform large imports when the library is closed and when it will not interfere with scheduled system backups.

The process for importing MARC and MARCXML records includes the following steps:

  1. Select an import profile and choose records to import.

    Note:
    For more information about import profiles, see Set Up Import Profiles.

  2. Review and configure import options.

  3. Review and configure record set import options.

  4. Perform the record import.

  5. View and manage pending, in progress, and completed record imports.
