If a patron is not logged in to a Vega session they will land on the Vega Login page (CAS or Vega Login Modal). After authenticating, the patron will be directed to Vega with the bookshelf expanded and the specified tab selected.
If a patron is already logged in they will be taken directly to Vega with the bookshelf expanded and the specified tab selected.
Note that Library staff who are authenticated to the admin view of Vega will be prompted to logout of the admin view if they attempt to use one of these links. This action will break the redirect and they will not be redirected to their patron account.
Improvements and Fixes
Header Links and Special Characters
A problem with pasting URLs containing special characters into the Header Links URL field was fixed.
Status of Lists Fix
A problem was fixed where the status of lists that had been used to create showcases were displaying the wrong status has been fixed.

Kiosks show availability and call number of preferred location
Guest users and authenticated patrons will now see the availability and call number information of the preferred location configured for the kiosk when materials are available at that preferred location. If a patron who belongs to another library is using the kiosk and the kiosk is not limited (consortia feature only), Vega will also indicate if the materials are available at the patron’s home location, but will still present the kiosk location call number and availability on the card.
Patron can update password/PIN in Profile
A editable patron field toggle has been added to the Staff Admin in the cog menu under Library Defaults > Patron Settings. Checking the box for ‘Passcode’ will allow patrons to edit their Password or PIN that they use to login to Vega in the Patron Profile. An additional Passcode policy message configuration has been added to the Patron Settings that allows the library to communicate the password policy required for the creation of new patron passwords.
When Passcode is enabled Patrons will see a button to change their password when editing their patron profile. Using this button will open a modal where the patron must supply their previous password/PIN and enter their new password twice to update this field. The Passcode policy message, if configured will display in the modal to help the patron choose a valid password.
Patron can change pickup location for holds
Patrons can now click the Pickup Location link displayed above the current pickup location for their pending holds. Clicking this link will open a modal where the patron can choose from the available pickup locations and make a change. If a pickup location can not be changed due to ILS settings, the patron will receive an error message from the ILS indicating why the pickup location cannot be changed.

Diacritic handling improvements
We have completed the necessary work for all customers to now have improved diacritics handling in search results. Please note that our changes handle predominantly single letter diacritics like those you find in romance languages. We will be following up with more improvements for the handling of more complex language characters in the near future.
