Discover Release Notes November 2022

Release Date: November 9, 2022

Primary Author Display Changes

The selection of primary authors for display on work level rollups in Vega Discover has been modified to include any primary author regardless of the given author role. This means that authors that were previously not displaying such as performers, composers, illustrators, etc are now eligible to be displayed as the primary author of works.

Note: This change to primary authors display will require a reindex that Innovative will run for your Vega Discover. Expect to see the results of this change within 24-48 hours of the code release.

New Metadata Indexed in Search

Indexing has been completed on all Vega Discover sites to enable the following index changes

1. Title Index (and everything index) now includes title and series data from the following MARC tags: 246, 730, 740, and 800 $t.

2. Subject Index (and everything index) now includes local subject headings from all MARC 69x tags.

3. The Everything Index now includes notes from the following MARC tags: 500, 505, 520, 586 and all 59X tags.

Fine Payment for Collection Sites and Kiosks

A feature was added to Collection Sites and Kiosks configuration to allow a site level fine payment account to be configured. By default all Collection Sites and Kiosks will inherit the Fine Payment configuration from the main Vega Third-party connections configuration. To configure a site level fine payment account choose the Cog Menu > Library Defaults > Site Configuration. Then choose the desired site and edit. In the site configuration choose a new menu item button "Third-party Connections" and select the Fine Payment button. Configure the fine payment account or button for your site and save.

Bug Fixes

eResource in Vega shows as unavailable

A bug was fixed that was causing eContent that was not associated with a configured vendor integration to display an unavailable message on the format card. Non-integrated eContent that displays a 'Check Availability' button should now display as expected with no availability message.
