Display Only Relevant Representation in Primo NDE When RepID Is Provided
When a Primo NDE page is accessed via a URL containing a specific Representation ID (RepID), the system displays only the referenced Representation. If the requested Representation is not accessible to the user, the system automatically falls back to the next available Representation based on the predefined order. Manual selection of a different Representation overrides the original RepID-based selection.
For generic URLs without a RepID (e.g. permalinks), the system behavior remains unchanged and displays the first available Representation.
Ensures accurate navigation to the intended Representation when sharing direct NDE links
Highlights
- Accurate navigation to the intended representation when sharing direct NDE links
- Access rights for the representation are applied
Bulk Editing Tagged or Grouped Objects
After extraction the objects are placed in the object table. This new feature enables displaying groups of tagged objects in the table and allows the user to edit the objects in bulk. Select the checkbox in the table to mark which groups you want to edit, and select the Bulk Edit option.
Highlights
- Easier working with multiple extracted objects
- A more streamlined experience with Specto processes
Enhanced Sorting Options for Faces, Text Mentions, and Objects
A unified and consistent Sort by control is available to users allowing more control when working with extracted entities.
Each control offers sorting criteria tailored to the specific entity type (faces, text, objects), with support for ascending and descending order on the primary sort field. Secondary sorting is automatically applied per entity type to ensure consistent and predictable behavior.
The selected sort order persists until changed by the user. Default sorting is applied on first load and when sorting is reset. All existing, previously implemented sort fields remain available and functional, and sorting performance is optimized to handle large datasets.
Highlights
-
Improves efficiency when reviewing and managing large volumes of entities
-
Enables faster identification of duplicates and high‑impact entities
-
Provides a consistent and predictable sorting experience across entity types
-
Reduces cognitive load with clear defaults and tailored sort options per flow
-
Ensures stable, high‑performance sorting for large datasets
Book View and Scroll Mode in the Viewer
Users can now preview books two pages at a time in the Mirador Viewer. The Book View feature provides a more natural way of reading resources that have two pages side by side in a non-digital copy, improving long-term reading.
The Scroll View feature is perfect for previewing large IIF files that need continuous scroll to be viewed properly. This feature provides a easier way to read, view, and interact with your digital resources.
The options are hidden for PDF titles.
Highlights
-
Improves long‑form reading by supporting facing‑page spreads
-
Better continuous scrolling for image‑based IIIF manifests in both Alma and NDE
Display Multiple Representations in the Viewer
When viewing a title with multiple representations in the Alma backend, users can select between all available representations directly within the Viewer's RHS (Right-Hand Side).
Paging between representations updates the viewer to display all relevant files, with the default file being the first file of the selected representation. The default representation shown is the first primary representation.
All other sections of the Viewer's RHS are updated accordingly when switching between representations, while also respecting access rights and copyright restrictions.
If a title has only a single representation, pagination controls are hidden.
Highlights
-
Enables backend users to easily view and navigate all digital representations of a title
-
Ensures consistency between the selected representation and all RHS information
-
Respects access rights and copyright constraints per representation
-
Improves usability and clarity in the backend UI by showing pagination only when relevant
Changes to Generate Thumbnail and Generate Fulltext Jobs
The Generate Thumbnail and Generate Fulltext jobs only generate new thumbnails or fulltext if those do not already exist for the title/file. If there is a need to re-generate the content, the existing thumbnail or fulltext files can be deleted prior to running the job.
Highlights
- Limiting the re-generation of existing content in ongoing jobs
- Reduction of duplicate messages, jobs, and resources
Enhanced Sorting Options for Faces, Text Mentions, and Objects
When viewing a title with multiple representations in the Alma backend, users can turn between all available representations directly in the viewer. Switching between representations updates the viewer to display all relevant files, with the default file being the first file of the selected representation. The default representation shown is the first Primary representation. All other RHS sections are updated accordingly when switching between representations, while respecting access rights and copyright restrictions.
If a title has only a single representation, these controls are hidden to avoid confusion.
Highlights
-
Enables backend users to easily view and navigate all digital representations of a title
-
Ensures consistency between the selected representation and all RHS information
-
Respects access rights and copyright constraints per representation
-
Improves usability and clarity in the backend UI by showing pagination only when relevant
Exhibition Builder for Sub-Collections
The exhibition builder is no longer limited to top-level collections. Users can now link sub-collections to the Wix site builder and showcase them. When a sub-collection is selected, a full path to it is displayed in the exhibition. This allows users to import multi-level collections , and get a segmented, unique exhibition.
Additionally, the 'Link to Exhibition' feature in Primo NDE now works on for sub-collections. Under Collection Page > Discovery tab two fields were added 'Exhibition Name' and 'Exhibition URL'. Populating these fields will link your collection/sub-collection with an Exhibition.
On the Primo NDE Collection Discovery a link that leads to the exhibition will appear . For each collection page there is a link to the exhibition.

Search by Entity Group and Tag Suggestion for Faces and Text Mentions
This feature allows users to search within the grouped Faces view and the Text Mentions table using a dedicated search bar. Users can refine their search by selecting whether to search across all fields, by Entity Group, or by Tag Suggestion. As users type, the results are filtered dynamically based on the selected search field.
The search integrates seamlessly with existing filters, sorting, and pagination. Clearing the search input restores the full list of entities. The behavior and user experience are aligned with the existing search functionality available in the Objects table, ensuring consistency across grouped-entity flows.
