Patron Administration

The Patron Administration component of the Administration Application enables you to permit certain functions based on a user's patron type (ptype). You can specify which patron types can:

• create tags. (See Administering Community Tagging.)
• promote a book's RightResult relevance. (See Promoting a Record's Relevance.)

Setting Permissions by Patron Type

The Patron Administration application presents a list of patron types recognized by your system. Each row in the list includes the patron type number, a description of the patron type, and permissions check boxes:

• Allow Tagging
• Allow Promote Relevance

To set permissions by patron type:

1. Select (check) the permission check boxes for each permission you want to grant to the corresponding patron type.
2. Choose Update.
3. (Optional) You can remove permissions for a patron type by clearing (unchecking) the appropriate permissions check box, and then choosing Update.
