Starting and Shutting Down ExpressCheck

Polaris ExpressCheck runs in kiosk mode on your browser. Innovative recommends creating a shortcut that automatically opens the browser in kiosk mode and launches the ExpressCheck webpage. You will need an attached keyboard and mouse to start and shut down ExpressCheck.

To start ExpressCheck

1. Select the shortcut created for ExpressCheck or go to this URL:

   https://polaris.library.com/ExpressCheck

   (Replace polaris.library.com with the fully qualified domain name that matches your Polaris server address.)

2. Sign in with your Polaris credentials.

   If you are signing in for the first time, ExpressCheck displays the Preferences screen.

3. If prompted, enter your preferences.

   1. In the Logged In As section, select a Branch and Workstation.

   2. (Optional) In the Settings section, set receipt printer options. See Setting Receipt Printing Options in ExpressCheck for more information.

   3. (Optional) If your library uses RFID for circulation, set the Security Manager and RFID options in the Settings section. See Setting Up RFID Circulation for ExpressCheck for more information.

   4. When finished, select OK.

4. Put the browser in kiosk mode. The exact steps to do this vary depending on the browser you are using.

To shut down ExpressCheck

1. Using an attached keyboard and mouse, take the browser out of kiosk mode.

2. Close the browser window.
