Edit the System Record
You can edit the system record if you have the System: Modify permission enabled in Polaris System Administration (web-based). For more information about system administration permissions, see System Administration Permissions Reference.
Note:
You cannot configure the following fields in the system record until addresses and contact information are defined in the appropriate policy tables:- Address
- Primary Contact
- Alternate Contact

To edit the system record

On the Polaris System Administration (web-based) Home page, select Organizations.
The Organizations page appears.

Find the system record. You can filter the list of organizations by typing in the Search box. You can enter the name of your system record or enter "system" to find the system-level organization.

In the Actions column, select Options
, and select Edit.The system record appears.

In the Name box, enter the name of the library, cooperative, or consortium that owns and administers the system for all organizations using this Polaris installation.

In the Abbreviation box, enter an abbreviation for the system record.

In the Display Name box, enter the display name you want to use for the system record. The display name appears when the system record is mentioned in the PAC or in Polaris reports.

In the Address list, select your central office's street address. The list contains the addresses that are configured in the Addresses policy table.

In the Primary Contact list, select your library's system director or Polaris administrator. The list contains the contact people that are configured in the Contact Persons policy table.

(Optional) In the Alternate Contact list, select the staff member you want to assign as the alternate contact person for the library system.

(Optional) In the Phone Number box, enter the phone number for the primary contact person.

(Optional) In the Alternate Phone Number box, enter an alternate phone number for the primary contact person.

(Optional) In the Fax Number box, enter the primary contact person's fax number.

(Optional) In the Email box, enter the primary contact person's email address.

(Optional) In the Email for Error Reporting box, enter an email address.

(Optional) In the Website box, enter the library's web address.

(Optional) In the Default Country list, select your library system's country.

(Optional) In the Default Currency list, select your library system's default currency. You can specify other currencies to use when ordering materials from vendors that don't use this currency.

(Optional) In the Default Language list, select your library system's default language.

Select SAVE.
