Hide records from the Catalog

You can control whether bibliographic records appear in the Catalog based on the suppression status of their attached items.

To hide records from the Catalog

  1. In the upper-right corner, select Settings .

  2. From the Settings menu, select Library defaults.

  3. Select Display settings, and scroll down to the Hide Record from Catalog section.

  4. Select or more of the following options:

    • Suppress non-eContent bibliographic records with no items
Hides non-eContent bibliographic records that have no items attached.

    • Suppress non-eContent bibliographic records when all items have a suppressed status
Hides all non-eContent bibliographic records when all attached items have item statuses that are configured not to display in Item Statuses settings of the Vega Admin.

    • Suppress non-eContent bibliographic records when all items are set to not display in Discover
This option hides all non-eContent bibliographic records when all attached items are configured to not display in Vega Discover through the ILS settings.

  5. Select Save.

How suppression settings work together

  • If the first two options are set, any combination of items that meet this criteria will cause the bibliographic record to be suppressed.

  • When a bibliographic record is hidden, its associated edition doesn't appear in the Editions table on the Full Resource page in Vega Discover.

  • If all editions in a format tab are suppressed, that format tab will not display in the format group.
