Upcoming Issues to Note

Updated Documentation for Analytics Tables

As part of an ongoing project and in alignment with the Analytics Community of Practice, Ex Libris is currently enriching the documentation of analytics field tables with additional information. This initiative aims to assist and support users in comprehending how our Alma data is presented within the realm of Analytics fields. For this month, the following tables within the Purchase Requests (Analytics) subject area were updated:

Removal of Gender Information

As published in the May release notes, gender information will be removed from all user-related information in Alma, including Analytics, in the upcoming August release. The deletion will not be reversible.

DigiCert SAML Certificate Expiration

(Updated - 3 June 2025) The current DigiCert SAML Certificate will expire in August 2025. If your institution uses this certificate, we recommend that you consult with your institution's IT department, and, if required, replace the certificate for Alma and/or Primo VE. If you do replace the certificate, this must be done in coordination with your IDP. For more information, see Replacing a Signed Certificate.

General Note Analytics Fields Added at Collection and Service Levels

General note fields were added to Alma Analytics to enable you to create reports with the general notes on electronic collections and services. The following fields were added to the E-Inventory subject area:

  • Electronic Collection General Note (under the Electronic Collection dimension)
  • Electronic Collection General Note (in Portfolio Details for Consortia Members, under the Electronic Collection dimension)
  • Service General Note (under the Service Details dimension)

Oracle Analytics Server Updated to Latest Version

June 2025 Analytics and Insights

During June and July, OAS (Oracle Analytics Server) will be gradually updated to its latest version (OAS 2025) in our data centers. This version includes some UI improvements and additional functionality. For more information, see What's New in Oracle Analytics Server 2025.

The estimated data center update schedule is as follows:

  • July 13 – DC82 (Canada)
  • July 27 – DC04, DC01 (NA)
  • August 10 – DC03 , DC06 (EU)
  • August 17 – DC05, DC07 (AP01+02), DC81 (China)

This update should not have an impact on everyday work and there are no special requests or preparations needed. We expect the change to happen seamlessly.

Improved Design and Accessibility of the Knowledge Assistant

The design of the Knowledge Assistant was updated to align with modern UI standards and improve accessibility. The new design includes enhanced contrast, a repositioned layout that will not obscure the text when not in use, and improved responsiveness across desktop and mobile devices. These enhancements ensure that the Knowledge Assistant is more accessible to users with visual impairments and provides a more intuitive and consistent user experience across platforms.

Additional Enhancements

  • June 2025 Analytics and InsightsURM-234173 The Service Portfolio Auto Delete field was added to E-Inventory > Service Details. This field indicates (Yes/No) the setting of the Automatically delete portfolios removed from service? field on the Electronic Service Editor for Community Zone linked services. The new field can help libraries track collections marked for automatic portfolio deletion and ensure that no critical resources are lost.

07913344 URM-243237 Acquisitions There was an incorrect rounding in PO Lines created from an API when applying a discount, resulting in an inconsistency between the net price and total funds amount. This was fixed.
07821818 URM-245635 Acquisitions Selecting a linked Order from an Electronic Collections search did not lead to the specific PO Lines and opened the list of All PO lines. This was fixed.
07710934 URM-237835 Acquisitions Reopening License Upgrade PO lines that did not link to an MMS ID displayed an error message. This was fixed.
07123200 URM-229699 Acquisitions Items migrated from Aleph that were linked to a PO line were deleted when the PO line was canceled. This was fixed and now the received items are detached from the PO line instead of being deleted.
07888362 URM-245629 Acquisitions An error was displayed when trying to delete an invoice line from an EDI invoice, and the “Save” and “Save and Continue” buttons disappeared. This was fixed.

07924422 URM-246114 Digital Resource Management Titles cannot be moved between collections from the sliding panel in the search results. This was fixed.
07913434 URM-243074 Electronic Resource Management Collections based on logical sets do not display all collection items. This was fixed, and all collection items are now displayed.
07141866 URM-246554 Fulfillment and Resource Sharing Messages sent to the Inventory Remote Storage system (ASRS) failed due to redundant diacritics signs. This was fixed.

07885565 URM-242598 Fulfillment and Resource Sharing In the Lender Ship Email Letter, the string 'URL: ' was added to the value of note_to_partner in the letter XML, even if no note was added. This was fixed.
07848625 URM-242553 Fulfillment and Resource Sharing In the "on hold shelf letter", the requested format was provided and not the delivered format. This was fixed, and now the new actual_shipped_format_str XML attribute can be used in the letters. It can be empty for no shipping format.
07864268 URM-242205 Fulfillment and Resource Sharing A message that displays to users in specific cases for receiving requests was not translated. This was fixed.

07959145 URM-248470 Metadata Management When searching for Physical Titles with the condition Tag Suppressed (Title) = "No", no results were returned. Additionally, the facets panel on the left failed to load and displayed a continuously spinning circle. This was fixed.
07756404 URM-234771 Metadata Management In Manage Sets, the "Created by" information was not consistently displayed for all sets. This was fixed.
07889182 URM-245051 Metadata Management Exporting to Excel fails for specific queries in the New Staff Search interface. This was fixed, and now the queries are exported correctly.
07913576 URM-244983 Metadata Management After updating a holding's location in the Metadata Editor (opened from the sliding panel), the location did not refresh in the search results upon saving and closing the editor. This was fixed.
07844104 URM-240499 Metadata Management The link resolver did not retrieve related record services when the genre was missing from the URL, affecting OpenURL calls from Alma and PrimoVE side view records. This issue has been fixed, and related services now display correctly.
07980020 06662015 07217562 URM-232313 Metadata Management When the authority ID was updated and contained capital letters, the redirection process that updated the ID in the bibliographic record would convert the letters to lowercase. This was fixed.

07799251 07789808 URM-237530 User Experience, Accessibility & Infrastructure In the new UI, when adding a fee with a comma in the English interface, it was incorrectly added and rounded to the closer whole number. This was fixed.

Note that the content of this page is created when the slip is generated; therefore, the fix will be for newly generated slips from the June release and onwards and does not affect prior printout lines on this page.
