Hoopla: Suppress from Main Site

A setting has been added to the Main Site Level Hoopla Configuration called, "Suppress Hoopla records from Main Site". The Suppress setting can only be accessed if you also use the, "Use API to provide records directly to Vega" setting. ILS MARC econtent records cannot be hidden with this setting.

When you enable this setting and save your Hoopla configuration, Hoopla records that you have ingested into Vega Discover will not appear in the Main Site and will only appear in the Collection Sites that you have shared the Hoopla records to using the eContent Management controls.

Note that Vega Discover will require up to an hour to apply the setting fully to the search results of your Main Site when you use this control.

This feature completes an Idea Exchange Request with 46 votes.

Rollup & Relevancy Improvements for eContent

To apply these changes please schedule a full update of your subscribed econtent collections. From the Record extraction utility, choose Create Subscription Extraction. Select the subscription you would like to update. Then Select "Full Sync" and submit.

Several Improvements have been made that will result in improved rollups for econtent records coming from API ingests of collections into Vega Discover with your ILS MARC-based physical collections.

OverDrive ISO Language Code Mappings: Vega Discover has updated our language code mappings to include the full set of ISO language codes in addition to the full set of MARC language codes. This will provide the correct language mapping for materials from OverDrive that use 2 digit ISO codes instead of 3 digit MARC codes and will prevent incorrect rollups of materials based on language of the work.

Link from Thumbnail in Search Results to Full Resource View

The thumbnail image for each search result is now also a link to the Full Resource View of the title.

Vega Central Request Interface Updates

Pickup Location Selector in Request Workflow Updates

The Pickup Location Selection in the Request Workflow for the Vega Central Request Interface now has a default selection of "Select a Pickup Location". Users must select a pickup location from an alphabetically A-Z list of available Pickup Locations in order to complete the request submission.

Note Field in Request Workflow Removed

A note field that allowed patrons to input a note about their request was removed from the Vega Central Request Interface request workflow form.

Vega Central Request Interface Saved Searches Fix

A problem was fixed that caused saved searches created by patrons in the Vega Central Request Interface to prevent additional refinements from being applied after the search was launched from the saved searches tab.

BUG FIXES

Syndetics Excerpt, TOC, and Cover Image Button

The Syndetics Excerpt Preview widget was not loading for titles in the Full Resource view in Vega Discover. This problem has been corrected and if any of these enrichments exist for a title you will now see this button appear under the thumbnail cover image on the Full Resource view page.
