Configure a DNS CNAME alias

A library can use a domain it has registered instead of the assigned domain provided for the hosted events calendar. For example, a hosted calendar address can be presented through a subdomain of the library’s existing website.

To configure the required DNS records:

Create the following two DNS records:

  1. Create a CNAME record for the address under which the platform should appear.

The selected subdomain points to the platform-provided events address.

  2. Create the custom DNS required for automatic SSL certificate generation through the platform hosting provider.

The required values are unique to each library and domain and are provided during implementation.

Example SSL validation record

The following example shows the format of an SSL validation record. The actual Name and Value are unique to each library and domain:

  • Record Type: CNAME

  • Record Name: _xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.calendar.wjlib.info

  • Record Value: _xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.acm-validations.aws

After both DNS records are configured, the hosted events calendar can be accessed using the URL from your library's domain.
