Configure custom passthrough search

You can configure passhtrough searches of external sources such as INN-Reach. Links to the external sources appear in the Central Request Interface.

  1. From the Settings menu, select Passthrough Sources.

    2. The Passthrough sources page opens.

  2. Next to INN-Reach, select Configure.

    3. The INN-Reach system page opens.

  3. Under Link Name, enter the name you want to associate with the connection.
  4. (Optional) Select Upload Logo to add a custom image for the results shown to your patrons.

    5. To remove a logo, select Remove Logo.

  5. Do one of the following:

    6. If you And you want to display Do this
    Have a logo Both the logo and the link text
    • Don’t select Hide Logo for Patrons.
    Only the link name
    • Select Hide Logo for Patrons.
    Don't have a logo Only the link name
    • Don’t select Hide Logo for Patrons.

    If you don't upload a logo and you select Hide Logo for Patrons, you won't be able to save the configuration.

  6. Under Type, select one of the following:
    • WebPAC Pro
    • Encore
  7. Under URL, enter the URL of the system you want to connect to.

    8. The URL must start with http:// or https:// to be valid.

  8. Under Full Resource Card Display, select Show for all titles.

    • To show the link only when a search returns no results, select Show only for unavailable titles.

  9. If you want to preview the link, select Preview.
  10. Select Save.

  1. From the Settings menu, select Passthrough Sources.

    2. The Passthrough sources page opens.

  2. Select INN-Reach.

    3. The INN-Reach system page opens.

  3. Near the bottom of the page, select DeleteThe Recycle Bin..

Additional passthrough sources

You can define a URL to search by keyword. You can also define a URL to search by title and author.

  1. From the Settings menu, select Passthrough Sources.

    2. The Passthrough sources page opens.

  2. Select Add source.

    3. The ILL Sources / Configure page opens.

  3. Under Display Name, enter the name you want to associate with the connection.
  4. (Optional) Select Upload Logo to add a custom image for the results shown to your patrons.

    5. To remove a logo, select Remove Logo.

  5. Do one of the following:

    6. If you And you want to display Do this
    Have a logo Both the logo and the link text
    • Don’t select Hide Logo for Patrons.
    Only the link name
    • Select Hide Logo for Patrons.
    Don't have a logo Only the link text
    • Don’t select Hide Logo for Patrons.

  6. Under Full Resource Card Display, select Show for all titles.

    • To show the link only when a search returns no results, select Show only for unavailable titles.

  7. Do the following:
    • To create a link that uses a keyword in the search, under ILL URL with ##KEYWORD## in place of search query term, enter the URL and include the keyword variable.

    Example:

    http://search.worldcat.org/search?q=kw:##keyword##

    • To create a link that uses title and author in the search, under ILL URL with ##KEYWORD## in place of search query term for works, enter the URL and include the title and author variables.

    Example:

    https://search.worldcat.org/search?q=ti:##TITLE##+AND+au:##AUTHOR##

  8. Select Save.

  1. From the Settings menu, select Passthrough Sources.

    2. The Passthrough sources page opens.

  2. Select Configure next to the search that you want to delete.

    3. The ILL Sources / Configure page opens.

  3. Select Delete.
