Non-circulating settings

Non-circulating settings in Vega allow you to mark entire library shelf locations and collections as In Library Use Only without updating records one at a time. Items marked as non-circulating remain available in the catalog but can't be requested, checked out or placed on hold. They can only be used inside the library.

If all items of a specific format group within a work are non-circulating, the following statements apply.

  • The Request/Place Hold button doesn't appear for that format.

  • Individual items display their usual availability status, followed by In Library Use Only in the Location drawer, Edition table, and on the work format group level.

  • In Vega Discover Material Type Settings: Select Non-circulating material in the Request Setting column to make all items with a specific material type non-circulating.

    • After you change this setting, the system updates the index and display. The changes can take several minutes to appear in the Catalog.

  • In Vega Discover Non Circulating Settings: Select specific locations where all items are treated as non-circulating.
