Configure the hold pickup setting

You can configure Vega to do one of the following things when a patron places a hold:

  • Limit the hold pickup location to the patron’s home location.
  • Ask the patron where they want to pick up the material.

If you limit the pickup location to the patron’s home location:

  • Only the patron’s home location appears in the Pickup location list when the patron places a hold.
  • The Pickup location list doesn’t appear in the patron profile.
  • The patron isn’t able to edit their home location in the patron profile.

To configure the hold pickup setting

  1. In the upper-right corner, select Settings Settings icon..
  2. From the Settings menu, select Library defaults.
  3. Select Patron Settings.
  4. In the Hold Setting section, select one of the following:
    • Ask (default)
      Vega prompts the patron to select a pickup location.
    • Home
      Vega limits the pickup location to the patron’s home location.
  5. Select Save.
