Set the session timeout period

You can set the amount of time that you want to allow individual kiosks to remain idle before the system ends the session. It is recommended that you set a timeout period of at least 5–15 minutes for patron kiosks. The default timeout setting is 90 days.

To set the session timeout period

  1. In the upper-right corner, select Settings Settings icon..
  2. From the Settings menu, select Library defaults.
  3. Select Site Configuration.
  4. From the Actions column, select Options The Options icon. for the site you want to edit.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Select Timeout Period.
  7. On the Timeout Period page, select Enable Timeout Period.
  8. In the Timeout Period Length box, enter the amount of time the kiosk can remain idle before the session ends.
  9. Select Save changes.
