Encore 4.5 Features and Enhancements

Encore 4.5 includes the following features and enhancements:

Axis 360 Integration

Seamless integration with Baker & Taylor's Axis 360 was introduced. Integration with the Axis 360 API allows your patrons to discover, checkout, and place holds for Axis 360 digital content all within Encore. Patrons can access their chosen eContent using the newly-released Axis 360 App.

Note that the Encore 4.5 development supports libraries whose Axis 360 authentication requires the patron barcode only. Development to support libraries configured with patron barcode and pin authentication for Axis 360 is scheduled for a future release.

Improvements to the Advanced Search User Interface

The Advanced Search user interface was modified to include more information to users about how to use the Advanced Search functionality.

ChiliFresh Enhancements

Encore's ChiliFresh functionality now includes the following functionality:

  • A geographic location has been added to reviewer displays (i.e. the library's location).
  • The date of reviewer submission now displays in the Patron Account.
  • The reviews can now be sorted by review date and rating from the full reviews page.

Genre Facets

Encore has added a genre facet which patrons can use in order to limit the results of a search. The genre facet's default configuration uses the 655 |a field. However, Innovative can configure your system using a different field. Please open a Support ticket to have the genre facet enabled for your library.

Patron Account functionality is now available in Encore Mobile.

Research Starters in Encore with EDS

The EDS Research Starters feature was integrated into Encore with EDS. Research Starters provide researchers with short summaries on frequently searched topics within Encore. Research Starters display at the top of the results sets within a placard. The content from EBSCO is culled from reference publishers such as Salem Press, Encyclopedia Britannica, and American National Biography.
