Configuring eBook Accounts Access

The Custom Encore Admin - eBooks page enables you to configure eContent account access. Encore provides configuration controls for eContent from the following providers:

Port Requirements

Integration of your eBook accounts requires outbound access through your firewall on ports 80 and 443 from Encore to the appropriate API server.

Mobile Settings

Settings include:

Enter the name of your library's Mobile Encore suite (usually mobile).

Check the check box to enable your eBook account configurations in your Mobile suite.

cloudLibrary

cloudLibrary Account Information

Contact your cloudLibrary representative for your account information (Library ID, Account ID, and Access code).

Settings include :

Enable cloudLibrary?

Choose Yes to enable cloudLibrary eBook access through Encore.

Library ID

Enter your library's cloudLibrary ID.

Account ID

Enter your library's cloudLibrary eBook account ID.

Access code

Enter your library's cloudLibrary eBook account access code.

Choose SAVE to implement your configuration.

Axis 360

Encore integration with Axis 360 requires the Patron API product. Contact Innovative for more information.

Before You Begin

Before enabling Axis 360 in Encore:

  • Contact your Axis 360 representative for your account information (Library ID, VendorID, and password).
  • Ensure that your local database includes bibliographic records for your Axis 360 titles. See Setting up eBooks and Audiobooks for Encore for more information.

Settings include:

Enable Axis 360?

Choose Yes to enable Axis 360 integration.

Library ID

Enter your library's Axis 360 identifier.

Vendor ID

Enter your library's API username for the Axis 360 system.

Password

Enter your library's API password for the Axis 360 system.

Loan Period(s)

Enter the number of days associated with each loan period. Note that only the first loan period is required; you can leave loan periods 2 and 3 blank if you wish. The default for loan period 1 is 14 days.

Choose SAVE to implement your configuration.

OverDrive

Before You Begin

Before enabling OverDrive in Encore:

  • Contact your OverDrive Partner Services representative for your account information (Library ID, ILS Name, and Website ID).
  • Open a support request via the OverDrive MarketPlace to request:
    • A card merge

    • Turning on API integration.
SIP and Patron API

Encore integration with OverDrive uses Innovative's Patron API. If your library currently uses SIP protocol for an existing OverDrive account, please contact Innovative about adding the Patron API.

To convert your account once you have obtained the required Patron API, open a support ticket with OverDrive to update your account to use Innovative's Patron API. As part of your support ticket, provide OverDrive with the IP address and port used for authentication on your system.

Enable Overdrive?

Choose Yes, availability to enable OverDrive item status information in Encore.

Choose Yes, availability and checkout to enable OverDrive item checkouts and holds integration within Encore.

Library ID

Enter your library's OverDrive eBook account ID.

ILS Name

Enter the ILS Name assigned by OverDrive.

Website ID

Enter your OverDrive Website ID.

OverDrive hostname

Enter your library's OverDrive host server name.

Locating your OverDrive Host Name

You can find your OverDrive host server name in the 856 field of an OverDrive record.

For example:

In the above example, the highlighted portion of the 856 link - overdriveapi.lib.overdrive.com - is the OverDrive host server name.
