Configuring Location Linking
Libraries can make the location name on the record details page (and in the brief record in the search results list) an HTML link that takes users to an informative, location-specific webpage.
Location Codes
The location code is a lower-case code, specified in your Innovative system, that corresponds to a location name. Location codes are one to five characters long.
In this location mapping utility, you can use an asterisk as a wildcard at the start or end of a code to match multiple locations that include the same pattern. For example:
wes* - matches wes, west, wesaa, wesar, wesca
*ref - matches ref, wref, scref, muref
To configure location linking for your Encore installation:
- Log in to the Administration Application and choose Encore Customization.
- Choose the suite you want to edit from the Current suite drop-down list.
- In the subapplication list, choose Other.
- The Location Mapping box shows you the current mappings for each language on your system. To change the current settings, choose EDIT. The Location Mapping edit page opens.
- On the Location Mapping edit page, you can edit an existing location code to be mapped or URL directly in the text box.
- To create a new mapping, choose add another and enter the location code (with optional wildcard character) and URL.
- To remove a mapping, choose the delete icon (trash can).
- When you have specified all the mappings you want, choose SAVE. You can choose Discard changes to revert to the previous settings.
Application Restart Required
Saved changes take effect after an application restart. Encore restarts automatically each night. In most cases, your changes appear in Encore the day after you make them.
